Our Mission
Learning through Diverse Exsperances
Our mission is to inspire a love for learning in students! We believe in utilizing methods in a home environment to create a open ended classroom experiences. By incorporating cultural lessons about food and people, foster a well-rounded appreciation for diverse cultures, art, and cuisine. This is achieved using books, food tastings, cultural celebrations, and community events, helping to nurture both education and a sense of family community.

How OakTown Daycare started...
Great places have incredible stories, and I’m thrilled to share mine! After seven amazing years as a teacher's assistant in the SF school district, I couldn’t wait to have my own class! Known for my engaging lessons, I quickly climbed the ranks and took on a role within the School. I found immense joy working with children with trauma and disabilities. I introduced after-school and summer programs, believing that the more students I reached, the bigger my impact would be. However, I soon realized it was time for a change!
I shifted my focus to younger groups, making learning fun building lasting relationships through early childhood education. OakTown Daycare specialize in art therapy, trauma-responsive teaching, and cultural understanding. Incorporating Baby Sign Language in our lessons has been a game-changer! It helps students communicate earlier and reduces tantrums, fostering empathy, respect, love, and excitement for learning. In our fifth year of business, we’re proud to have served over 20 children and 41 parents, creating a OakTown Daycare community together!

How can you help us grow?
Grants and Donations

We are very thankful for all the donations received. However, monetary donations through grants and generous donors have kept our doors from closing in this changing economy. We were happy to be a recipient of Measure C grant from Alameda County.
We use our donations to secure great organic food for our students, pay our teachers living wages, afford staff training and additional certificates, and continue educational endeavors that benefit the center. We also seasonally update the toys, lessons, books and enhance environment. We take Venmo and certified checks.
Baby Clothing / Toys Recycle

We currently keep on hand a large stock of baby / toddler clothing in case your child is in need. We offer this to all current clients and families. We also acquire backpacks and school supplies for children in need as well. We offer enrolling students, bentu box's, baby sign lang books, and back up outfits. We offer it at no cost.
